Cowboy has been with us for about 2 months now. He is much happier than when he first arrived. He gets very excited in the morning when he wakes up. He bounces around a bit and lets out a little howl. He behaves the same way after we get home. He is getting better about letting us pet him. He nose bumps my hand to let me know he's there, sometimes he leans against my leg. His house training issues have been resolved. The problem was due to medication dosage. We are still focused on getting him Heartworm free, and his dermatitis is better due to daily doses of Benadryl. Change comes slowly, and he has alot to learn, but just about everything outside of a kennel, since he arrived here, is new to him.

Cowboy is a very sweet boy. He is rather shy so his interaction with my husband and I has been limited and on his own terms. We will be working on bringing him out of his shell. He doesn’t like the tradition kennel, so we addressed that. He’s seems to just want to be around people, rather than be alone. He’s got some medical issues that are being dealt with, some easier to overcome than others. He likes treats and biscuits, and bones. He is a companion level dog who will need to be on a leash with limited activity due to his heartworm condition. More to come as we get to know him.
