My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pretty Penny is an absolute doll! She was not in good shape when she first came into the shelter but has made a complete recovery and is looking for her furever home.

She is believed to be just under 1 year old and she is the epitome of a "pocket pittie" ... she is a petite 38lbs and ~17" at the shoulder.

Dog / Cat Friendly: She loves all other dogs and all people but she thinks it is fun to tree cats (just ask my barn cats!). So she would probably be best in a no cat home or one where they don't run from her and I'm sure she could learn to not chase them! She plays well with everyone! She does mouth things (like hands/fingers) when she’s playing but I’m working with her on that – it is not at all aggressive behavior – just rough playing – but a habit that needs to be broken.
Kid Friendly: She has not been around children but she is so super friendly I am sure she would be fine with children. She may be too strong or playful for very small children, however. She should be supervised with children at first so the children can get used to her and her to them. She likes to jump up to give kisses.
Energy Level: Typical young dog but not at all hyper. Loves to run and play but will quiet down rather quickly after playing and/or eating. As a young dog / puppy, she is high energy and is learning to not jump up for attention and also how to sit. She does know how to sit now but really doesn’t like to hold still that long! She LOVES food but is not at all food aggressive - she's just a little piggy and loves her meals and treats.
She will settle down and sleep well in her crate at night with no accidents but she prefers to snuggle in bed with her humans! She still needs work on house training but will learn quickly since she’s already pretty good in her crate!
Being a puppy, Penny needs a home that is willing to work with her on potty training and other training and give her lots of love and attention.
