Hey, I’m Rita. I noticed you checking me out. Don’t you love my eye patch? I think it gives me a distinctive look. Justs so you know, I love to go for walks, frolic in the grass with other dogs, and snooze in the sun. I have a gentle yet playful disposition, and would love a doggy sidekick to spend my days with, sometimes wrestling but mostly lounging on the sofa. Food! Did I tell you about food? I’m very motivated by treats, which helped me learn to sit, walk nicely on the leash, and wait till told I can go out the door. I can’t wait to find my new people and learn more tricks with them. That said, I do take time to warm up to new people. Although I might not spring up the first day shouting, “Here I am, come love me,” once I get to know you, I’m the most devoted pal you’ll ever have. A doggy sidekick will make that transition even easier. I’m a busy gal, but have a few slots open on my calendar. How about we set a date to meet? Please go to pawspetadoption.org and fill out an adoption application to meet me! Thanks!

About Pet Adoption and Wellness Services (PAWS)

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Adoption and Wellness Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, and trainers, we are able to rescue animals, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully-screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Our Adoption Process...

We required those interested in adopting a dog or cat to fill out our online Pet Adoption Application and Agreement, which is on our website at www.pawspetadoption.org. Our Board of Directors will review your application and get back to you asap. If your application is approved, we will arrange a meeting with you and the adoptable pet. If the pet appears to be a good fit for your family, we may visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for that particular pet. We also require a $200 adoption fee for most dogs, $75 for Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas and $25 for cats, along with a signed contract indicating that you will properly care for the adopted pet and return him/her to us if it doesn't work out for any reason.
