DELTA's Story...
An adoption application on DELTA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application and do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

DELTA is a 7 month old little cutie. She currently weighs 22lbs and we think she will stay under 30. Unlike her breeds, this girl is quiet!!! Her foster mom says she almost never barks. She also doesn't howl at all!!! This is a huge bonus for those folks who love adorable beagles, but don't love the vocalness that is common for the breed. DELTA is fantastic with big dogs, small dogs, and kitty cats....she lives in her foster home with all 3. Her great manners make her a perfect candidate for dog parks, doggie daycare, and puppy play dates. DELTA is potty trained and has lovely house manners. This girl is the optimal combination of cuddles and play. She has never been in a single dog environment so we feel she will be happiest in a home with another dog friend. This hopelessly adorable half pint will fill her forever family with happiness for years to come.

DELTA is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DELTA, a Milwaukee Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Milwaukee, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Milwaukee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Milwaukee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Milwaukee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Milwaukee paves the way for another one to be saved.
