Mia's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Mia's Story...
Mia is 1.5 year old lab/beagle mix who is energetic, loving, sweet and playful. She is active and loves chasing squirrels, frogs, and being outdoors. She will come inside and rest after playtime and lay at your feet because she wants to be near her people. She is loyal and eager to please. She loves people and is always willing to make a new friend.

Mia is used to being around small children and willingly receives affection as well as gives it in return. She gets lots of hugs and kisses and loves belly rubs. She has a beautiful face, a cute little pink nose, and a silky soft coat doesn't shed much. She enjoys having doggie play dates - the more exercise she gets the happier she is. She also likes to go on walks, runs, and even bike rides. She doesn't mind loud noises, thunderstorms, or car rides. She is always up for an adventure.

She is house and crate trained, and finished her first round of obedience classes where she learned to respond to basic commands. She has learned sit, stay, leave it, drop it, she has been trained not to jump on furniture, and is still learning to chew on only her toys and to heel on walks. She is highly intelligent and can pretty much learn anything with the right edible incentives.

Mia will do well with a family that can continue to enforce and expand on her training and have time to play and exercise. She would likely do well with other dogs where her high social and play needs can be satisfied. Come meet Mia and she will be fast friends with you too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Houston Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
