My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Rusty
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 3-4 months (as of March 2016)
WEIGHT: About 3.5 pounds (will grow a little)
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Ignores on cats
CHILDREN: Would be fine with older, mature children (13 and older)

Meet adorable Rusty!

Rusty is a young puppy with a personality that warms hearts instantly. Rusty gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing with them, and being outside exploring with them. Rusty also loves his toys and will play with them on his own or will play tug-o-war with you or another dog. As a young puppy, Rusty is entering his chewing stage so his adopter needs to be able to redirect appropriately when needed. Keeping nylabones and toys around will help him develop proper play habits through this stage.

Rusty has a steady energy level (not as high as a typical puppy!). He loves to play but he also loves to snuggle. He goes at a steady pace through out the day and then when couch time comes he needs a little interaction and then settles right down. He gives kisses too and it just makes you smile. You can't help it!!! So far he isn't much of a barker but follows the other dog's lead when they do. He loves everyone he meets and should make an awesome well rounded companion for any family.

Rusty loves to go on car rides and rides great in the car in a carrier. He does whine a little at first but then settles down. He is crate trained and almost completely housebroken already. We will be working on leash training soon. Rusty is a bit possessive with his food so he is fed in his crate.

Rusty currently weighs 3.5# and isn't growing much, so expected weight should be 5-7#. Due to his size we are recommending he only be placed in a home with mature children 13 and up.

Rusty is longing for a forever home to adopt him as a puppy so he can grow up with you forever. Perhaps that could be with you?

Rusty is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $225 adoption fee required. .
