Pepperjack's Story...
Scrumptious, I am just scrumptious! An adorable fella sure to blend nicely with any hound-savvy family, as long as you are prepared to give me lots of love, lots of guidance, and a bit more training. I may be 4 years old but there is still a bit of puppy left in me! Some days I’ll be mild, and other days I may be sharp…but believe me, I’ll only get better with age. I pair well with other dogs, respectful children 5+, and dog-savvy cats! I’m even doing well with my housebreaking, and my crate training is near perfection. Do you have an appetite for love and companionship? I sure hope you’re not doggylovetose intolerant! Ok, this is getting a little cheesy…how about you just come in and meet me! 4 years old-41lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam , 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepperjack, a Portland Plott Hound/Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound/Whippet for sale in Portland, or seeking a Plott Hound/Whippet dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound/Whippet breeders who help with Plott Hound/Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
