Name: Camilla Age: 5 years old Breed: Wirehaired Dachshund Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Unknown Good with kids? Yes Energy level: Low/Medium. Camilla is one of the best dogs that we've had in the program in a while. She's sweet, fun, cuddly and full of life. She would do awesome as a companion for a senior person, as she loves to sleep on your lap, and be as close as possible to her human. Camilla has to go to a home with very little stairs, because she has a blown disk in her back, making her back legs weak. She walks a bit different, but is in no pain, and there's nothing that can be done to fix the disk issue. Dachshunds are very prone to disk issues. This should cause no future issue for Camilla. Camilla is ready to find her forever family! Her adoption fee is $150 which includes spay, DAPP, Rabies, Chip, Bordetella, deworm, and vet check. Plus, we had xrays done for her diagnosis. Go to www.powerofthepaw.org and fill out an application to meet Camilla!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Camilla, a Rathdrum Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Rathdrum, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Rathdrum.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rathdrum already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rathdrum breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rathdrum paves the way for another one to be saved.
