LIZZIE (R)'s Story...
Say hello to Lizzie! Lizzie came to the shelter on 03/10 with a lot of her brothers and sisters. They came from a very bad situation, a hoarding/cruelty case so their life has not had a good start so far. They are all really scared right now but volunteers are working with them and will shower them with lots of love so they will know what love feels like. They are already giving kisses. They have never been on a leash before coming to the shelter so will need to learn that too. They are all 10 months old and weigh about 38 pounds. They will be spayed/neutered and micro-chipped on adoption. They are current on vaccines and have tested negative for heart worms. Lizzie is in cage 82 with her sister, Sharla. Her ID# is 582700.
When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LIZZIE (R), a Marietta Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
