Callie's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Callie's Story...
My name is Callie. I am a pit bull mix and my age is somewhere between 5-7 years old. I have had a very rough life so far. I was dumped at animal control by an anonymous person and was pregnant with 6 puppies. I have had many litters in my life. I was such a great mommy! Thankfully HELP rescued me and my last litter from being euthanized because of my breed. Now, all of my puppies have found their forever homes and it’s my turn. I have been spayed and am up to date on all my shots.
I was used and abused by human hands. Left with multiple scars over my body, if only I could tell you what I’ve seen. I came from an abusive home. Sometimes I get a little anxious when I’m left alone for long periods of time, as you can imagine now that I have love I don’t want to be without it. When my family saved me, I was 15 pounds underweight, and because I had to fend for my food and territory I do not like other dogs or animals in my house. But don’t worry I wouldn’t hurt you around my toys or food. I just want your love. If I could be your one and only baby I would be perfect for you. I love to go on walks and roll around in the grass. I am good on the leash too! I know basic commands like sit and down, and I ask to go potty by scratching at the door. My favorite thing in the entire world is to be cuddled! I carry around a stuffed animal and keep it with me at all times. I love to play ball, and I’m very gentle when I bring it back. I play ball with my fosters family young child and she takes the ball out of my mouth and I just can’t wait for her to throw it again. If you are willing to give me a chance I will show you my gentle
spirit. Since being in foster care I have learned what life is truly about. I have learned that hands mean belly rubs and treats, not hitting. I have learned that new people in my house are there to greet me, not hurt me. My foster family tells me every day that I am special. I have spent the first half of my life not knowing when my next meal is coming. Will you start the second chapter as my forever home?
A special home for a special dog! Callie should be the only pet in the house and never around other dogs. Callie does well around children she loves to play and sleep with the children in my foster house. Callie would do best in a home with knowledge in dog behavior that can continue to enrich the life of a once broken spirited dog.
She has come a long way since rescued from animal control but her story shouldn’t end here. I go everyday with my foster daddy to work and love to greet all the people that see me everyday. I think people even come back just to see me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Callie, a St. Charles Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in St. Charles, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in St. Charles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Charles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Charles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Charles paves the way for another one to be saved.
