Elana is a friendly, sweet, happy and well-behaved dog! She is doing well in her foster home. She loves everyone she meets, good with both big and small dogs, and good with cats. Elana is also good with the foster family’s son who is 8 years old. She is very submissive and when you call her name, she will roll over and enjoys to be belly rubbed. Elana is a good temperament dog and with some basic training, she will sure grow up to be a wonderful dog!

Elana and her siblings were living as homeless puppies surviving on garbage. There are barely any food and shelter in the mountain where they were found. A very good hearted young student was in the area with his friends on vacation. He heard the puppies crying and gave them his lunch. They were so hungry they ate all the food in just a few seconds. The courageous young student with his friends brought all five of them to a nearby vet and got them checked. They couldn’t bring them home but didn’t have the heart to see them starved in the mountain. They posted their stories on Facebook hoping to find them loving homes. However, no one responded back. They found an older lady and paid her some money to board the pups with her. He saved every dollar he had and paid for their food. However after a few months they were running out of money and decided to release them back to the mountain to continue their homeless lives. Elana’s now foster mom is an experienced dog rescuer and found over thousands of dogs loving homes. She knew it was urgent to take help them and promised them a good life!

Elana’s foster mom took all of them home and gave them the best care. They all had a thorough vet checkup. Luckily, they are all very healthy. Elana had her vaccinations, rabies shot, spayed and microchip. All she needs is for a family to open their hearts to her and give her a new life! Please give Elana a chance to live.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elana, a Castro Valley Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
