My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Claire – 8 years old, 10 pounds

We’d like to present Claire, our latest little bundle of fur. Claire is an 8-yr-old spayed female Yorkie weighing just under ten pounds. She came to our Rescue as a stray; every attempt has been made to find Claire’s owner, but, after eight weeks, no one has claimed this precious little girl. She has had a thorough health examination, and is now completely up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm test, and dental. Claire is housebroken, and will go to the door to let you know she needs to go out.
She is leash-trained, rides quietly in the car, and does fairly well if crated or confined when you must leave the house. (She is not happy if confined while you are still in the house, however, and will be persistently “vocal” about it if not allowed to follow your every step.) Claire adapted almost instantly to our household and routine, gets along great with our three small dogs, and loves to snuggle in a lap, on the couch, or in the human bed. She enjoys exploring in the yard, playing with her toys, and just relaxing near her humans. She greets everyone she meets with tail wagging, and is a very calm, happy-go-lucky little girl. However, as with most Yorkies, and in accordance with our policy, she cannot be adopted to a household with children under the age of ten. Claire would thrive most in a home with a work-at-home or retired individual or couple, as she loves having full-time human companionship. If you’re looking for a gentle, well-behaved, loving little companion, Claire may be the perfect match!
