This is Autumn Rose! Autumn Rose is one special little girl!!! Autumn is 5 years old and only 8 lbs! Autumn was born with hydrocephalus and a congenital spine deformity. Her hydrocephalus caused cerebral-spinal fluid to build up around her brain which resulted in developmental delays. Her spinal deformity causes her to have muscle weakness and pain in her back legs and she also has a loss of neurological sensation so she does have some issues knowing when she needs to use the restroom. But this little girl is a trooper! She will need ongoing care for the rest of her life for her disorders. She will stay in the qualified care of her foster home. Please consider sponsoring Autumn or make a donation at to help with her continued care. She is being fostered in western KY. Thank you for supporting rescue and sweet Autumn Rose!

About Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from shelters & individuals in Tennessee, Kentucky & Indiana and finding them permanent homes.

We strive to educate the public as to the importance of spaying/neutering and heartworm prevention.

We provide foster care and rehabilitation for abused/neglected dogs to provide them with the opportunity to successfully adapt to a new home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Foster homes will communicate with potential adopters about each foster. Potential adopters may see if foster homes will meet with them to see the dog but it isn't required for the foster home to do so. First meeting is the day you go with the Intensions of adopting the Boston. The day of meeting is the day you can adopt the foster if you have been approved.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees:
Younger than 6 months $400
7 months to 12 months $375
1 year to 2 years $350
3 years to 7 years $325
8 years and older $150

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out the application. Before filling out an application it is recommended that you visit the informational pages on this site to determine whether or not a rescued Boston Terrier is for you. The application is quite extensive so be prepared to spend some time filling out answers to ALL the questions. It is necessary that you fill out every possible field. Unfinished applications will not be considered. A completed application is indicative of a genuinely interested adopter, and only these will be considered. Only leave blank the questions that do not apply to you, and type "Not Applicable" where you can in the answer fields to these questions.

When you have completed the online form, click the "submit" button at the bottom and your application will be sent to someone on the board of the rescue to be reviewed. This member will contact your veterinarian (if applicable) and verify your information. If all questions have been answered and the information on your application has been verified by a veterinarian, your application will then go before the board to be considered. If the board approves the application, you will be contacted. Please be patient as this process can take a while. Applications are handled on a first come, first serve basis.

If your application has been accepted, someone will contact you to arrange a home visit. During the home visit, a member of our board will conduct a brief inspection of your home and a personal interview. Please do not feel intimidated by this step in the process. The home visit is not conducted to judge anyone on anything other than that the home is safe and suitable for a dog. The visit is brief and helps us to determine the dog that would best fit your environment.

The findings from the home visit and in-person interview are then submitted back to the board. A decision will be made at this point as to whether or not the dog that has been applied for is a good match for the applicant's lifestyle and environment. If it is determined that a specific dog is not a good match for an applicant, another dog may be recommended to you.

Once all of these steps have been completed, you may come to the foster home and pick up your new family member and pay his/her adoption fee. This includes altering, shots, fecal and heartworm test, de-worming, as well as any other necessary procedures. The dog will be current on a monthly heartworm medication and we microchip.

The adoption process usually takes about two weeks to complete. Due to the massive amount of e-mail we receive, you will only be contacted by us if you are approved. Please try and avoid emails regarding your application status for at least two weeks as it only slows down the process. The adoption process may seem lengthy or even extreme, but we assure you that each step is as necessary as the next in finding these precious dogs the best possible homes, and finding each applicant the best suited Boston Terrier.
