Cookie's Story...
Cookie is a happy, athletic 7 month old spayed female hound terrier mix originally from Georgia. She is currently being fostered with with a wonderful foster family who is working with her on house manners and basic obedience. They adopted her sister in January, so Cookie is currently being fostered with another dog and doing well. She loves to run in the yard, and has taken t the foster's routine quite nicely. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and HW negative. She does have a slight prey drive, so we are not sure how she would do with cats. Cookie is being fostered with 8 and 10 year old children and loving them. She would make an excellent family pet, but does need alot of exercise, so in her case a fenced yard is strongly reccomended.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Brookeville Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Brookeville, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Brookeville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brookeville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brookeville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brookeville paves the way for another one to be saved.
