Brothers Columbus and Ferdinand are big guys ready to make your lap their new "spot." They have experience with kids, other cats and just life in general. These two are already know how to be cats so they will fit in quickly in your home. While they are friends, they would love the chance to be spoiled rotten "only" cats!

Columbus loves being your companion, on the sofa, on the bed, or assisting you around the house! He has a calm, gentle personality and has lived with young children and a quieter adult home. He and his brother Ferdinand are looking for someone who can appreciate a handsome, big kitty. His fluffy fur makes him even more gorgeous.

For more information on Columbus, or to arrange to meet him, contact Julie, 202-547-8497.

About Capital Cats

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of private households who rescue and find homes for cats and kittens abandoned at several shelters, most of which have the high kill rate typical of large metropolitan areas. We also do street rescue of placeable cats and kittens and cooperate with local feral rescuers as time and space permit. We do it to save lives.

We show for adoption every Sunday except major holiday weekends. Location is--
Howl To The Chief
733 8th St SE
Capital Hill/Barracks Row

Our Adoption Process...

Prospective adopters fill in an application form at the adoption event. We do landlord and veterinary reference checks before proceeding to the next stage, which involves a home visit where the cat or kitten will be living. The cat or kitten is spayed or neutered before placement; cost is included in the adoption fee (currently $80). The contract requires that the cat or kitten be indoors-only and that it cannot be declawed. In addition, we do not place single kittens unless the household has another cat or kitten who needs a friend; otherwise it has to be two kittens together.
