My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Blankey, and I am patiently waiting with my foster parents until I can be united with my forever family. At 1.5 years old, I am by far the cutest, sweetest little dog you will ever meet and FULL of energy. Although, I do pass out after a long day and sleep like a rock! My sleek, short hair is a mixture of black shaded with brown, which complements my super soft, floppy ears. My big brown eyes will melt your heart! I weigh a little under 15 pounds, but I am the perfect size to fit snugly in your lap for as long as you will let me lay there. In fact, I want to be with you constantly, and you might mistake me for your shadow. I love regular massages, and if you stop petting me too soon, I will be sure to let you know licking your face repeatedly and nosing your hand until you begin rubbing behind my ears again.

At night, I prefer to cuddle by your side in the bed, and I promise to wait until the morning to be let outside. However, if you do decide that you would rather leave me in a crate in another room, I will wait patiently although being alone makes me sad! Actually, my foster mom believes this is my only fault because I cry when I am alone, but we are working on this together. I am getting better about not whimpering quite as long when I go in the crate. It is only because I will miss you so much and can't wait to be with you again! I will probably do better with this as I grow older and gain maturity because I am still young. When you do come to get me, I will hardly be able to contain my excitement and will squeal with joy! I usually jump around because I am so happy!! I love going outside, and I look forward to daily walks where I can sniff everything and bask in the sunlight. I walk extremely well on a leash and follow right by your side without pulling (I have gotten a lot of practice pretending to be a shadow!)

I have very good manners, and I never have accidents inside and vary rarely bark. If you offer me a treat in return for sitting nicely, I will be happy to oblige. I also know the "off" command to not jump up, and I am working on perfecting this one. I do extremely well with other dogs (big and small), and I am sure I would do well with small children as well because I do not have an aggressive bone in my body (as long as they do not try to hurt me!). This is because I am extremely submissive and will let my furry foster siblings do or take whatever they want from me. (I really just want to follow you around anyways!)

My sincere wish is to find a family who will love me as much as I will love them since my former parents just dropped me off at a relative's house because they had grown tired of me. I was even forced to have a litter of puppies even though I had not gotten past the puppy stage myself! Nonetheless, I adjust to new people quickly, never meeting a stranger, and I already know that I will be your best friend. In fact, I am frequently complimented by others on how sweet and affectionate that I am.

I will be so grateful when I can finally settle in one place for the rest of my life with someone who will truly love me as their own. My current temporary home is in Louisville, KY, but my foster mom has promised me that she will transport me to my new forever home.

Now that I have told you a little about myself, please contact my foster family and tell them a little bit about you! I hope that I will be able to meet you soon and become a valued member of your family. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to be part of your life!
