Payton's Story...
Payton is a beautiful 8 year old female Golden Retriever who's been kept very busy tending puppies in her past life. She weights 70 lbs., but doesn't look that big. She is determined to make the most of her chance at happiness. Calm and friendly, but not clingy, Payton is an ideal house dog. She is housebroken and hasn't had an accident.

Some breeder releases have trouble mastering basics things that most dogs seem to know instinctively. She, however, has shown great presence of mind. She goes up and down stairs like a trooper. The vet says her joints feel good. Doorways also pose a problem for some breeder girls, however Payton has also mastered this skill. She doesn't rush the door and stays when you tell her to. She will occasionally startle at household sounds, but this is minor and she recovers quickly.

Payton will need a home that allows her to snuggle on the couch with you - this is her greatest pleasure in life. Another dog would be nice, but might not be mandatory. So far she hasn't shown much interest in dog play. She is good with dogs. She is good with cats. Walks well on leash. She sleeps through the night on a dog bed. Rides well in the car. She is an easy, calm dog that is so happy to be in a home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Payton, a Denver Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
