Meet Simian!
Hello, my name is Simian, or Simi for short. I’m a really sweet boy who didn’t have the best start at life but I’m working on gaining some weight, muscles and overall getting back healthy. Outside of my amazingly handsome face, I have the best overbite smile in town, so be cautious, if my personality doesn’t win you over on its own, my smile will seal the deal.

Currently I live with my foster mom, a senior female pitbull, a senior female mini poodle, and my month-older foster brother Royce. I don’t play a ton with my older sisters because I don’t think they want to play as frequently as I do, so I cuddle with them instead. My foster brother and I play a lot and wrestle like typical pitties, pretty rough and occasionally when he plays too rough with me I have to tell him aggressively to stop. I have an old scar on my ear where it got split open so I try to protect myself.

Other than a few instances when my bigger foster brother is beating me up, I get along with everyone, I don’t mind sharing my toys and am good with my food. I got to meet the two next door neighbor boys and did great with them and everyday an 8th grade boy comes over to let me out.

I would say I have medium energy for now, but not sure how much I will have when I’m 100%. In between playing, I love to nap in my foster moms lap because being nice and toasty is the best. I’m doing well with my potty training. I have a back yard with a doggy door that I have already mastered. I don’t necessarily need my own yard but I’m pretty confidant with it. I have only gone on a few walks since I am still getting well, but I love them and I think with a little training I’ll be a great walking partner.

I’m still losing some of my puppy teeth so I like to chew on a lot or bring things to my hoarding spot. So watch your shoes, I love to stock pile all of my treasures. Because I’m still young I spend the day in my kennel and sleep in it during the night. With a little treat I go into my kennel with no problem. I will bark in my kennel a little when my mom leaves in the morning and when she comes home and I’m smart enough at night to bark if I have to go potty but then go back to bed.

In a few weeks I go into get neutered, get my skin checked, and get an overall bill of health from the vet and then I’ll be ready for my furever home. Because I’m so young, I am pretty flexible in where I go and with the right training and introductions will be a great dog for one lucky family.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
