My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET PATTY -

Patty is an adorable ChiWeenie (Dachshund/Chihuahua) mix. This sweet litte 5.5 year old female, red with white princess is looking for the most amazing, loving FOREVER home... PATTY is the sweetest, most loving and appreciative little Doxie mix you've ever had the pleasure to meet.

Patty is such a good girl in the car. It seems as though nothing bothers Patty. She has no fear of men; ignores cats and gets along with male dogs. Sometimes at the rescue, the front door might be left open too long and Patty will walk out. When she is told to get back inside, she does. PATTY minds well, is obedient and loves to run around the land at the Rescue.

She is truly a treasure. PATTY doesn't bark, tries hard to please and gets along fine with other dogs and cats, though we think PATTY will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) where she can receive all your love and attention as well as give you hers. She could be placed with a gentlemanly, neutered male doxie.

This little girl is SO much fun. She loves to cuddle, read and go shopping with her foster mom. Are you looking for a loving, cuddly and gentle new best friend? Would you be willing to love and treasure her for the rest of her days? If so, perhaps your family could be Patty's forever family? If you'd like to meet her, please visit www.odr-inc.org and complete an adoption questionnaire.

Like all Dachshunds, PATTY is high energy and enjoys playing and warming her little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around her neighborhood, PATTY needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give PATTY a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in touch with you within 48 -72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
