Lucy's Story...
Hi, my name is Lucy, and I was born in August 2015. I'm a Bombay/ black DSH mix who also has flecks of tortoiseshell in my coat . Actually, I look like a solid black cat who got sprinkled with gold angel dust, and maybe I did! You see, I was a really sick orphan kitten who was covered in mange, but Buster's Friends took me into their program, nurtured me, and got me totally well. So did an angel sprinkle me with gold dust to confirm that I am one lucky, healthy kitten? Who knows, but my foster mom says that I'm so sweet and cuddly that you'd think I were an angel.
I'm a nice combination of being a frisky, playful kitten and a sociable, "Velcro" kitty who is attached to my foster mom. Just let me entertain you, because that's what kind of girl I am. For example, I just love water! It fascinates me, and I may try your patience because I love to knock over my water dish.
My coat may not be solid black like a purebred Bombay cat, but I do have those big-as-a-saucer mesmerizing green eyes and a sweet face that will steal your heart. Won't you adopt me and let me sprinkle my gold angel dust on you? You'll be blessed if you do!
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by Googling "Cats 101 Bombay."
Lucy is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Houston Bombay cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bombay for sale in Houston, or seeking a Bombay cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bombay breeders who help with Bombay rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
