Josephine's Story...
Hi, my name is Josephine, and I'm a sweet, affectionate Bombay black DSH mix who was born in August 2015 and rescued from a high-kill shelter. My coat is black as shiny patent leather, and my big round copper-penny eyes are captivating. You'll know that I'm a Bombay mix as soon as I turn on my purr machine, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. I just love to snuggle with my foster mom, which explains why Bombay kittens are sometimes called Velcro cats. I'm just a sweet-as-pie little panther who is waiting to be invited into your home and your heart.
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by Googling "Cats 101 Bombay."
Josephine is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josephine, a Houston Bombay cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bombay for sale in Houston, or seeking a Bombay cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bombay breeders who help with Bombay rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
