My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chewy is a strikingly handsome, purebred Australian Cattle Dog -- 50 pounds of love -- who was born in November 2013 and who finds himself in the precarious predicament of needing a new home. His human is moving overseas for over a year to a country that would keep him in quarantine for months. The Australian Cattle Dog is a breed for which human contact is so vital that Chewy would be miserable spending months in a cage. Rather than make him endure a required lock-up and because he loves him so much, his human is sacrificially giving him up for adoption. He has been a wonderful canine companion -- friendly, full of energy, and house- as well as crate- trained.
Like a typical Australian Cattle Dog, Chewy is loyal, utterly devoted, obedient, intelligent, easily trainable, and athletic. He thrives on vigorous exercise and has a lot of stamina, so he requires a high level of physical activity, preferably with mental challenges too. Since the breed is a working dog, Australian Cattle Dogs may try to herd children and small animals by nipping their heels. His coat is rain-resistant, easy to groom, and needs brushing or combing once or twice a week. Watch the Animal Planet You Tube 3-minute video by googling "Dogs 101 Australian Cattle Dog," and you will be hooked! Won't you be the one whom Chewy will herd into his heart?Chewy is fully vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee is $150 as a donation, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the green contact button if you are interested in Chewy, and we can arrange for you to meet him.
