My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nate is a 2 year old male miniature poodle with a beautiful apricot coat who weighs only 14 lbs. This lively, affectionate teen-ager (in dog years) has lots of energy and loves to play with either people or dogs - he's not particular. Chasing balls is one of his favorite things, though bringing them back is not his strong point. He is good with children and dogs of any size. Adventure-loving Nate is the poster child for cooperation between Maltese Rescue California and Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. After landing in a San Diego shelter three times, Nate was rescued by MRC, which diagnosed a need for training. As a consequence, Nate now walks nicely on a loose leash, sits and lies down on command, and is working on the stay command. Nate is looking for an owner with a secure back yard and family members, either human or canine, willing to play a lot with him, run with him, or take him to the dog park.
