Shar-Pei's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Shar-Pei is named because right now you can see most of his wrinkly skin - 'Bald Chicken' was another option his foster mom considered! She found him out in the snow so severely matted that his twisted fur was ripping away, leaving bald spots, so dangerous in the cold. She assumed he was a feral cat, out in a wilderness-surrounded industrial area full of coyotes. So the veterinary team worked quickly to get off all his matted fur before he could awaken and became impossible to handle. This is so funny now that we all know how sweet he is! Shar-Pei adores people, arching his back so high for petting that he is nearly vertical in the air! He must be puzzled about why the humans are laughing so loudly when they first see him. He just gazes solemnly at you with his giant eyes! He is just as sweet with the cats in his foster home, bravely marching over to kiss and smell them. This is one happy guy and we know he'd bring lots of joy into your life too. And roars of laughter - until his fur grows in, and then he will be the stunning fluffy gray ruler of your home and heart! Everyone will ask where you got your handsome, part-Persian cat, and you will have great photos from his arrival to prove that you took him on faith in his future beauty!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shar-Pei, a Wakefield Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Wakefield, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Wakefield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wakefield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wakefield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wakefield paves the way for another one to be saved.
