Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Andree was picked up as a stray. Andree tested positive for heartworm and erlichia (a common tick born disease similar to Lyme's). He will start his heartworm treatment after he completes his round of antibiotics. Andree is a happy and loving boy with a great temperament. Andree is about 1.5 years old and 30 pounds.
Updated 4/22: During one of Andree's treatments, the vet decided to take x-rays. Turns out heartworm isn't the only thing Andree has had to deal with in life. Andree, at some point, was used for target practice. The x-rays show 6 bee-bee pellets lodged inside his body. There is nothing that can be done to remove the pellets and they don't seem to bother him. But, yet once again, we're left shocked by people's cruelty and heartlessness toward innocent animals. We're just happy knowing that no one will ever be able to hurt this sweet boy again. Andree is doing well with his heartworm treatments and hopefully will soon be ready for his forever home.
