Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chopper: 6-month-old black lab/shepherd mix 55 lbs.
Chopper just joined lab rescue as his human family is moving to Washington state and cannot take him. He is an absolute delight to be with. He loves tossing his squeaky duck around… and will happily exchange it for a ball. Great with other dogs. He is a bit skittish when meeting new people… but quickly warms up and will have his nose in your lap in no time. He is learning how to settle nicely in a crate… and is on the verge of being house-broken (fingers-crossed) even though he has lived most of his life in a backyard, sleeping in an outdoor dog house. Chopper is just learning what it means to go for a walk – and he seems to like it. Playful, inquisitive -- for Chopper, most every experience is brand new.
What Chopper’s Rescue Rep says:
Chopper is through his puppy vaccinations… still needs to be neutered and microchipped. He deserves puppy obedience school -- and a house full of kids where he can be duly entertained and exercised. Warning: we have a feeling this guy is going to be a big one. Chopper is located in Berkeley.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
