Important Note

Wonton is best friends with Moo Shu. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Wonton, born in August of 2015, has always been a faithful friend to her good ol’ sister Moo Shu. She has always had her back from day one and teaches her to be stronger and braver everyday. She has a very calm temperament and will find herself at peace just by sitting in a chair. She does love to play with her scratching post and mouse toy. She can go from o to 100 in an instant and loves playing catching games. She is an incredibly curious cat and I often find her staring out the window at the people walking by. She loves watching the different weather patterns and is also incredibly interested by the world outside my apartment. She is a good eater but definitely does not eat as much as her sister. She does love her treats and wet food though! She loves exploring areas and really enjoys sitting underneath my dishwasher door and shower curtain. Funny and odd places; yet she finds them to be a comfort to her. She will follow me pretty much anywhere and always likes being around human contact. She falls asleep in my bed every night and definitely loves warm places. Wonton takes a little bit of time to feel people out but will definitely come around! She loves getting pet and just wants to be around people! When I leave for work and come home from work, she is always at the front of my door, ready to greet me and is waiting for me to get home. She is such an amazingly wonderful cat.

Wonton and her sister Moo Shu are very bonded so need to be adopted together.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

About Montgomery County SPCA

About Our Rescue Group...

The MCSPCA, founded in 1973, is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We are independent, locally based, and funded completely by donations. We receive no financial support from the ASPCA or from any federal, state, or county government agencies.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We generally hold cat adoption open houses every week at local Petco or PetsMart locations. See our website for details on upcoming events. Appointments can also be arranged to visit our adoptable cats at other times.

The MCSPCA facilitates dog adoptions through referrals. We also maintain a list of dog breed rescue organizations for people who are looking for a particular breed of dog.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Fees:

* A $100 adoption fee is required for cats.
* A $150 adoption fee is required for kittens under 1yr. of age.
* A $150 adoption fee is required for dogs under 50lbs
* A $175 adoption fee is required for dogs over 50lbs
* A $225 adoption fee is required for puppies or dogs with special medical needs (including sighthounds because of the anesthesia requirements)

We accept cash and checks only, no credit cards. The fee includes the cost of spay/neuter, initial vaccinations, heartworm testing (for dogs), FeLV/FIV testing (for cats), deworming, and general care of the animals during their stay at the MCSPCA (food, litter, medication, vet care, etc.).

* ALL members of a household must be present for the adoption process.
* If you rent your home, you must provide your landlord’s name and phone number. Landlord consent is required prior to adoption. To expedite this process, you can provide a copy of your lease or a signed statement from your landlord specifying the pet policy.

* The MCSPCA seeks the best possible homes for the animals in our care, and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.

*Upon approval, an adoption contract must be completed and signed.
*An adoption counselor will follow up each adoption with telephone calls and/or home visits.
