My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies – if interested in adoption please email caarescue@gmail.com~

My name is Django … 3 years ago when I was just a baby my family brought me home but 3 years later when I grew into a 70+lbs boy I was surrendered to the Montreal SPCA siting “no room”
It was really hard for me to be there; I really was very nervous and did not respond well to the cage environment. The employees and volunteers at the Montreal SPCA really tried their best to help me but I was just very scared – petrified infact. Little did I know that one woman from the SPCA was in conversation with a CAA Rescue volunteer… so while I was being all nervous and stressed out they planned my placement into foster care in less than 6 hours!
So off I went with my foster dad where I am having the time of my life!
I am out in the country with other dogs. And I have to tell you I am completely a different guy from who I was at the SPCA!
I have been left alone for a few hours uncrated with no destruction or separation anxiety to note at this time. However it is important to note that while the human may have left I do have doggie friends in foster care so even though technically I am alone I am never truly alone. I think that is making a big difference in my life as I adjust to changes
That being said I am completely dog friendly! I guess my issue is that I am too happy to see other dogs and being a big boy when I decide I am going “Datta ways!” unless you are quite strong yourself you will be following. So I really will need someone who will invest some time and some training with me on the basic 101 of proper canine behavior. I am smart and my foster dad is working with me so we will see how things develop

I do know some other basic commands in French

I am just a happy and excited boy who wants to meet everyone to give them kisses, to stay hello and sniff every dog butt I see! I suppose there are worse ways to be in life :)

I show no food or toy possession or aggression in the home at this time

As I mentioned I am a big and tall boy who is happy so I am worried that if I am in a home with a young child my goofy ways can easily knock a little one over and unintentionally cause an ouchie; so ideally I am looking for a home not an apartment, maybe with a doggie friend, active, doggie experienced people with no young children

I am clean in the home and have done all my business outside while in foster care with CAA Rescue
Sometimes I like to cuddle in bed or on the couch with my foster dad but sometimes I also like to enjoy the space and the silence on the floor close by, by myself to sleep
If you would like to meet Django at his foster home in Lachute please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Django we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
