Carson's Story...
Carson is a very outgoing and affectionate boy who came to 4Paws as an already declawed cat. He’ll come right up to you and climb into your arms while giving you lots of head butts.

Carson is a gentle cat who is pretty laid back and mellow. Not much bothers Carson as long as he has someone giving him the attention he craves! He would do well with children, and he gets along with other cats too. Carson purrs up a storm as soon as you start petting him, he can’t get enough love and attention! Carson was living as a stray outside an abandoned church in Purcellville but 4Paws knew he needed to find an indoor home where he could be the spoiled and loved kitty he was meant to be.

If Carson is adopted into a home with another friendly feline, proper introduction procedures still need to be followed to ensure feline harmony. Helpful guidelines for this process are posted on our website.

Carson was born approximately March 2010. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is current on his vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carson, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
