Meet Sage

Sage is approximately 10 years 8months(as of 2016), female Ridgeback/Catahoula mix & I weigh approximately 40 lbs.  I was found in Livingston Parish with my 7 siblings with sarcoptic mange (scabies), about every worm and parasite known to man and a broken shoulder. The nice people at APAWS took us all in, got all of the bugs & parasites off and out of us and then I had to have surgery on my shoulder. Now I am ready for my forever home.  I am up to date on shots, on heart worm preventative, spayed, microchipped & very happy/healthy now. I stay outside during the day and come inside when my foster parents get home and sleep in my cage at night. My mom is a 30 lb. Ridgeback mix and the best guess my dad is a small Catahoula so they think that I will be a medium size dog. If you think that I fit your lifestyle please come to Petsmart off of Siegen Lane in Baton Rouge & meet me personally. Please consider opening your heart & home to Sage.

If you would like more information on this dog please contact APAWS at info@apawspets.org. If you would like to begin the adoption process and fill out an application please use our online application available here: http://www.apawspets.org/dog_application.html.

About Animal Protection and Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

A.P.A.W.S. (Animal Protection And Welfare Society) is an all volunteer group of people who are dedicated to ensuring that all pet animals in and around the South Louisiana area live in homes which provide for all of the animal's physical and emotional needs (including daily maintenance, medical care and nurturing) for the animal's lifetime.

Some volunteers provide food, shelter and love in their homes to cats and dogs who have been injured, abandoned or thrown away. Others help by transporting the animals to veterinarian appointments, volunteering on Adoption Days, participating in fund raising activities, mailings, publicity efforts and public education. Because we receive no external funding, we rely on fund raising efforts and donations to fund our efforts.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We will have cats, dogs, puppies and kittens available for adoption
at PetSmart off of Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA. Every SATURDAY from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Our Adoption Process...

An application for adoption is required. Once the application is approved a legally binding contract is signed and an adoption fee is paid.
