Dixie's Story...

Dixie is a gorgeous young bluetick coonhound girl, about a year of age, weighing about 48 lbs. She is very social and cheerful as only coonhounds can be. She needs some leash training and some basic obedience training, as well as a home who will give her the managed exercise this breed needs, especially when the dogs are young and very interested in following their noses. She's a beauty! Our $75 adoption fee ($50 for seniors) includes: spay/neuter, microchip, HWT, DAPP and Bordetella vaccines, Strongid deworming, and 2015 Clermont County License. Our hours of operation are Mon/Tues 11:30-4, Wed 11:30-6, Thurs CLOSED, Fri 11:30-6, Sat 10-5, Sun 12-5. Call the shelter at 732-8854 for more details. Support our shelter and save a life by adopting!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Batavia Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Batavia, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Batavia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Batavia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Batavia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Batavia paves the way for another one to be saved.
