My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is a 1-2 year old black and tan male. He is a big boy, weighing about 75 pounds. He'll probably top out at 80-85 pounds at maturity. GSRCA got Trooper from the Monroeville shelter April 25, 2008; he was there as a stray and not claimed by anyone. Unfortunately, Trooper was also heartworm positive. GSRCA had him treated for heartworms, neutered, etc and aside from needing to gain just a few more pounds, is the picture of health!

"Super Trooper" is a very happy shepherd! He likes people and other dogs! He's not been around cats but he probably would learn to accept them as long as they leave some room for him on the sofa. He loves being in his foster home and is learning manners quickly. While still young and energetic, he pays close attention to what is expected of him and strives to please. When Trooper meets a new person, he greets them by giving their hand a lick. His form of a doggie handshake, maybe? At any rate, Trooper is sure to provide some very lucky adopter with lots of fun, unconditional love and security.
