Daisy Durango's Story...
This standard size girl is our Daisy Durango. DREAM stepped in to help Daisy when her mom was admitted into a nursing home. She was located outside of Houston, but our awesome volunteer went out of her way to help transport this sweet senior back to Houston.

Daisy came to DREAM a little over weight, but her foster mom tells us that Daisy is doing great. She has lost a little weight and is starting to play. She's a funny girl, as she loves to get on the bed and bounce around before settling in for the night. She is also doing quite well learning to use the doggy door. She gets along well with her foster siblings and she's not aggressive at all. She's just a love and will make a fantastic family addition!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy Durango, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
