Facts about Lyall

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9789726
  • Hair: Short

Rescued on his last day from the Devore shelter, this attractive 2yr-old brown tabby is charismatic and mischievous! One minute he may exhibit a bit of cattitude & the next, he is extremely charming and persuasive. When the mood strikes him – which is often! – he loves to romp and play with other kitties.

Acutely intelligent with a dauntless personality, Lyall may not be the best lap cat. He's independent, alert and focused and loves his people, but he's quite happy to sit at the other end of the sofa or across the room, glancing up every now and then to see what you're up to. In a multi-cat household, he'll surely be the head-honcho.

Lyall made a great impression on his foster mom, one of our devoted volunteers, who thought he was a hoot! He would 'go-go-go' then just come to a dead STOP. This guy is loaded with personality; he thinks kitty tunnels are the greatest things ever invented and fires up chasing fuzzy mice around before dropping into a coma.

He’s a sweet boy and SO smart. You will find Lyall to be extremely engaging with many admirable qualities – he will surely bring absolute delight into your home, being the character that he is!

About New Beginnings for Animals

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a no-kill rescue group in Southern California. Our primary focus is rescuing animals from local high-kill shelters. We then either board them or place them in foster homes so we can better assess their personalities before placing them in loving homes. All our animals are examined by our veterinarians, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested if they are cats, flea treated and dewormed if needed.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen 7 days a week at:
PETSMART Aliso Viejo
26762 Aliso Creek Rd.
Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
Adoption hours: Saturday and Sunday 12 noon - 4 p.m.

Some of our cats are also in foster homes so please call Hana at (949) 716-0538 or email her at to set up an appointment to visit a kitty in foster care or to visit them at Petsmart.

Please call 949-348-8057 or to set up an appointment to visit with one of our wonderful dogs available for adoption.

Our Adoption Process...

All interested parties are required to complete a pre-adoption questionnaire. This helps us place our rescued animals in the home that is best suited to their needs and the needs of their new family. Most of these animals have been through so much and we want to make their transition as smooth as possible. Please visit our website for more information or our calendar of adoption events where you can meet our wonderful dogs and kitties.
