My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a mosaic female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. She came to NWI about a bit ago and we estimate she was born around 10/25/15. This makes her right about 4 months old – now’s a great time to take her home and make her part of your family!

She is a mosaic chinchilla, so she is white with some grey shading over her body. She has some light gray shading on her face, and a little over her back, but mostly she is white. She has a noticeably scarred nose – the fur has not grown back on part of her nose because of the scarring – we’ve heard it described that it looks like she has a bandage over part of her nose. She’s just fine, this does not affect her at all.

She is a very sweet girl. She seems to enjoy being petted and getting scratches on the back of her head and behind her ears. She is relatively easy to catch and pick up. Very sweet, nice girl. She is calm when you’re holding her. She doesn’t bite.

This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if she gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether she might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). Sorry, but we do not ship.

This mosaic female is $175 to adopt.
