Opal's Story...
Howdy! I'm Opal! Aren't I cute?! I'm a mix of black lab and most likely dachshund. I have a long body and short legs. I stand about 12 inches tall up to my shoulders and weigh about 45 lbs. My estimated year of birth is 2008. I'm a very easy going gal in need of a home. I would especially love it if there was a home willing to take me AND my friend Alfried as it would be hard on us to be separated. Alfried is photographed with me in one of the pictures attached. I like humans and tend to stay close. When walking on a leash I like to stop and take frequent breaks, you know, to take in my surroundings and sit and smell the roses. Do you? If interested in me...and Alfried.....please contact RickyC68@aol.com and please include your phone number. Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opal, a Simsbury Labrador Retriever/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund for sale in Simsbury, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Simsbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simsbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simsbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Dachshund breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simsbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
