My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DUNCAN
Born 2002, Male, Purebred Bengal, Declawed

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Duncan was the trophy cat to a rich woman. She kept him pretty much locked up in a laundry room for the first 6 years of his life…in addition to having him declawed. There are just no words to describe how upset I feel just writing this.

Eight years ago a kind-hearted lady painted a beautiful mural for this rich woman. The rich woman asked this sweet lady if she wanted to take Duncan, to which she said yes, feeling compassion and sadness for this sweet boy. A divorce, the loss of her home, no work and having to move in with friends who can only offer her a room, have forced her to contact our organization in the hope that we will be able to find her precious boy a new home. She is afraid that if she takes Duncan to a shelter, they might euthanize him due to his age.

Duncan is a very handsome and loving purebred Bengal boy. He is super sweet, and almost dog like in his interactions and behavior with his human. He is a vocal boy who has a great presence and connects very deeply with his people. He is great with dogs and seems to tolerate other cats. He loves affection and he likes high places. He likes to lick people and loves their company. However, as most cats that have been declawed, you’ll have to learn his signs. If he is getting over petted, he may nip to let you know he’s had enough.

We know it is never easy to adopt out an older kitty, we know that most people want a young cat, but as an adopter of a senior kitty, I can attest that no matter how long or how short of a life we can offer one of these special creatures, every minute you get to spend with them is a blessing to be treasured.

Duncan has always been kept indoors. He will only eat wet food (not pate style), which is healthier for him anyway and he is litterbox perfect.

If you would like more information about this wonderful boy, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or loveallcats7@gmail.com or send an Adoption Application.
Please note that Duncan is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but is fostered through another rescue organization in the Sacramento area. Donation requested.
