Welcome Frankie from the Caribbean island of Anguilla!

Frankie is a rescue from Anguilla - a small island with a major dog overpopulation problem, and poor animal welfare. Some members of our board went to school on this island and have remained in contact with the island's only rescue. We help save pups when travel permits.

Frankie is still very young (10 weeks old) and it will be about 4-6 weeks before he can be neutered and then go to his new home. Anguilla's pups have a big group following - they even have their own facebook page for all the rescue's adopted in US/Canada. They are a wide variety of mixes, so the breed is a complete guess - most grow to be 30-50lbs. They make the best dogs!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frankie, a Elgin Labrador Retriever/Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Elgin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle puppy from a breeder in Elgin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elgin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elgin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elgin paves the way for another one to be saved.
