My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is a retriever/border collie type cross and was born at the beginning of November. She should be a medium to large sized dog when she is fully grown, as she is 26lbs now. She is a very sweet, happy girl who gets along well with everyone she meets. She loves other dogs, and enjoys playing with her fellow foster friends and all of her buddies at doggie daycare. Daisy is a submissive girl who greets you on her belly, but then very quickly turns into her normal puppy self and will climb into your lap for snuggles. She likes to jump up for attention, so we are working on "4 on the floor"!

Daisy is very clever and she is getting the hang of "sit" and "kennel", and she is also house trained and crate trained (she sleeps through the night without fussing). As she is still just a puppy, she will need continued work with her obedience and socialization to teach her to be the best Daisy she can be!

Daisy came to us with what seems to be neurological damage to her front left leg. I call it her "flippy paw" because sometimes she will flip it under her. The vets believe that she may have sustained a shoulder/neck injury at some point which caused the neurological damage. But it doesn't slow her down one bit, and doesn't cause her any pain. Most of the time she walks well and uses the proper underside of her paw, and as she grows and her bones strengthen, it should only improve. She is going to have a physio appointment soon to determine some good strengthening exercises for her wrist which will also help her to continue improving. These exercises will be easy to do at home, with no fancy equipment necessary.
