My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heidi is fostered in Lancaster Texas 75146 through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org. To find out more about her, contact her foster mamma at: Yorkielove0409@yahoo.com.
Heidi is a 5 mo. old 8lb Yorkie - Dachshund mix surrendered to United Yorkie Rescue in February 2016 after being diagnosed with Portosystemic Shunt (Liver Shunt) which is very common in Yorkies. Heidi's an adorable little girl, very sweet and affectionate. At this time she is eating a special diet which has already made a big difference in how she feels. She's as happy and active as any puppy and otherwise very healthy. There are different degrees of Heidi's condition, her required liver shunt surgery. There are no long term concerns expected with her liver shunt as the doctor feels we got a 100% repair. She is currently on a low protein diet and this may need to continue, only time will tell. Heidi will need a family committed to her long term care, which should be low, but could require follow up down the road. She loves to cuddle on the couch and gives the sweetest kisses. She is pee pad trained and is working on her outside potty skills too. She gets along with all of her furry brother and sisters and doesn't cause a minute of trouble. Heidi does well with children who are respectful, older children would be best, as well as a fenced yard for this little investigator; she loves to explore! Recovering from her surgery and Spay, she's ready for her forever home.
