Whiskey's Story...
My name is Whiskey.
Whoa --- what just happened? I was in a shelter and then adopted “YEAH”, then given away, and then rehomed again (BOO). The last people put me and my new best friend – a shaggy dog – in a car and drove around and then shoved us out and left. Fortunately, the Humane Association of the Lowcountry rescued me. Whew!!

Despite all of those changes, I am a happy, positive and healthy kitty. I am very confidant as demonstrated by very erect tail. I like to be held and play. I am a charmer. Wouldn’t you like to meet me?
My greatist wish is that I find a family that loves me as much as I love them. In the mean time, I will be in the lobby cage at Port Royal Veterinary Hospital getting exposed to more cats, dogs, kids, noise, smells and choas. I hope my forever family finds me here.

If you would like to meet me, complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry(HAL) adoption application. It is located on our web site:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Whiskey, a Beaufort Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Beaufort, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Beaufort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beaufort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beaufort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beaufort paves the way for another one to be saved.
