My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gwenie! This 6-month-old hippo/pit mix was rescued from a local
shelter with her sister (you'll meet her later). One of our family
members met them while volunteering and knew we had to help. A pound
is no place for babies, especially these (not-so-little - they're
almost 50 lbs already) girls. From the time they were 8-weeks-old
until the day they were rescued by an ACO, they lived in crates in a
dark basement. Understandably they were beyond frightened of
everything. But they proved to us once again why dogs are the best!
They're incredibly resilient! Just a week out of the shelter and
they're already blossoming! From day one of not moving on leash to
running around and learning how to be a dog - we're so proud of these
girls!

Gwenie is currently living with her golden retriever foster brother
and absolutely loves dogs. They give her confidence! She is also
wonderful with cats. She's learning to trust more and more every day
and will make a wonderful dog for her future family!
