My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dash was given his name because he has a lot of puppy energy.  He loves to run craay though the house, in and out of rooms, around the table and playing with the other dogs.  He is a very very happy guy once he gets settled and over his shyness.   He thinks it is a game to try and run past you when you want to pick him up.  He loves toys of all types - squeekers, rope toys, stuffed toys - basically if it is a toy he likes it.  But, if he is being nosey and thinks something is a toy which isn't, if you call his name or say no he seems to know what that means.  He can go up stairs, but doesn't know how to go down them, and he doesn't know how to jump on or off furniture.  He has a very good appetite, and likes to take a few bites, then run around some, and do the same over and over.   This little guy is very entertaining, and will keep you quite busy.

Since he is a puppy, he needs work on his house training skills.  He does have accidents, and needs to be let out 10 minutes after he has any water, and regularly after that until he learns.  When we put him outside he does know to do his business, and then of course he runs around too and likes to explore the yard.  This little guy is a smaller IG, weighing around 10 lbs full grown.  He is sable in color, which is a reddish with a stripe down his back of darker fur.  He isn't familiar with leash training yet, as we haven't been able to work with him in the snow.  Dash does make noise when he first goes in the kennel, but calms down after a while.  He would probably do best in a home with other dogs he can burn off energy with, and if his energy can be controlled in a constructive manner he may be a good agility dog with the proper training.

Dash, Tanner, and Reina all came in from a breeder who was stopping her breeding operation and moving.  They were all being kept outdoors in the cold winter in a cage with only a heat lamp for warmth.  He came in to rescue just after the beginning of 2010.  If you are interested in adopting Dash, we would love to have you put in an adoption application.  We generally adopt to Nebraska and surrounding states.  Dash is being fostered in Lincoln,  NE.April 2, 2024, 12:16 am
