Ollie's Story...

Ollie is one of 3 puppies born in rescue in May 2010.  He is a pied blue and white Italian Greyhound, who has a lot of puppy energy to burn.  This boy loves to run around the backyard, and chew on sticks he finds while running.  He is doing pretty well on his housetraining, and is generally able to make it through the night without an accident if given limited water an hour or so before bedtime.  He is good in his kennel when put with another IG.  Ollie will sometimes run from you in the backyard if he thinks you are playing, but if you sit down he loves to come up and get attention.  He absolutely loves getting his belly rubbed or scratched.  He has already been neutered and given shots, so he is ready for his new home, and would probably love a home where he had another dog as his companion.  Ollie is being fostered in Lincoln, NE and local adoptions are given priority.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ollie, a Lincoln Italian Greyhound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Italian Greyhound for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a Italian Greyhound puppy from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Italian Greyhound breeders who help with Italian Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
