My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Napoleon but my foster Mom also calls me Little Man because as you guessed it – I’m little. I’m an 8 year old Chihuahua. I was rescued with a bunch of other Chihuahua’s and I was the “mature” one in the group. Someone was using us as breeding dogs and she wasn’t allowed to do that so we wound up at kill shelter. All the other young Chi’s got rescued by IAR and when my foster Mom saw my sad picture she couldn’t leave me behind. I’m so glad she didn’t leave me behind. You know that saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”? Well, that was me when my foster Mom saw my 1st picture. See, that breeder didn’t take care of us. I had really bad fleas so I had no fur. I just had this spikey fur (my Mohawk) on the top of my head and patches of fur on my body. But now that I am in my foster home & get fed really good food plus I get a special vitamin called Fish Oil to help my “cover”; my fur is all better. Most of the day I just like hanging out in my dog bed. I’ve even learned this thing called “potty training”. When I need to go outside I go to the door and I stomp my little feet. I didn’t like going outside in the winter time (who does?) but now that it’s nice out I love being outside. Maybe I didn’t get to see grass & be outside a lot at my old place. I like it when my foster Mom takes me to the dog park. I really like it when people say “oh he’s so cute!” I think they mean me. When I’m at the dog park I get to run around & play with the other dogs; I like to play. Even for a Senior I still have some spunk in me. When I’m back home I like to hang out in my dog bed especially on my favorite blanket. I’m just a Little Man that is low key. I’ve made a lot of progressive from when I was first rescued. I was a bit skittish at first but now I’ve come out of my shell I guess you can say. I’m not a yappy dog and my foster Mom thinks I have a funny personality. I just need someone to give me time to get used to them and once you get to know me I will be your BF forever & ever. I might even give you all the kisses you want! So can you call my foster Mom so you can come meet me? Kisses, Napoleon.
