Laverne's Story...
Hi, I am Laverne! I am a playful basset mix who is approximately 4 months old. I am already 20lbs! I am still learning all the things puppies need to learn like going potty outside and learning to walk on a leash (I am just really excited to see everything new around me!), but I promise, I’m trying to learn quickly.

I love to sniff, play, and chase my foster brothers and sisters. I think other dogs are great! I am independent and I love to explore, but I am also looking for a family who can give me lots of love! I love people of all ages, I just hope my future family will let me give them lots of kisses and sometimes fall asleep in their laps. I would love to be your lifelong pal!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laverne, a Hayes Basset Hound/Cocker Spaniel puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Cocker Spaniel for sale in Hayes, or seeking a Basset Hound/Cocker Spaniel puppy from a breeder in Hayes.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hayes already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hayes breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Basset Hound/Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hayes paves the way for another one to be saved.
