Adopting A Shelter Dog
These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.
Cupcake is a 2-3 year old 4 pound Chihuahua. This little girl is looking for a warm soft lap, secruity and love. She would love a nice quiet home and her own person that she can devote herself forever. Cupcake gets along with other dogs, ignores the cats here and has big brown eyes that just seems to know what you want and need. She is a little soul mate dog who will always be there for you through thick and thin. Cupcake is polite to adults (though cautious) but she has seemed to light up with children. She would love to be the special soulmate of a gentle child. She currently is being loved up by a 9 year old girl but cupcake had the same happy reaction to a younger boy. She is not a yapper, well behaved and quiet in general. Just right for someone who just needs a little dog who can go with them in the car, or just hang out at home. She is very very sweet.
Adoption is $200 and includes her spay, rabies, worming, shots, heartworm test, microchip and all dogs go home on a two week trial.

Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.
