Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Who can resist these grins? This is Phantom, one of a pair of 9 year old husky/shepherd crosses that were recently surrendered to New Hope. They were originally adopted at 4 weeks and raised with all kinds of pets and kids, so they are very friendly, loving and playful. They are strongly bonded to each other and to people, having been hand-raised the last few weeks that they normally would have been with their mother. Phantom is a goofy, happy guy who loves to cuddle and to play. He usually lets his sister start the game but he's always up for it! He will cuddle with anyone who wants to, be it dog, cat or human. He's a little nervous in the car, but an open window and his sister beside him soon make car rides fun as well.
Phantom is pretty agreeable to anything, but he is more likely to go off his food or be stressed in new situations for a little while. Having his sister, Maria, with him helps a lot, and he calms down and adjusts with her help. He barks at people in the alley and at the door, and at his foster parents when they come home to tell them how darned excited he is to see them again. He does his job essentially, and doesn't seem to bark excessively. He's very friendly with visitors of the human and canine variety after announcing their arrival. Phantom is very healthy, if a little chunky, and he and his sister are doing well on their diets. Please consider adopting this adorable pair together, and you will get double the joy! They really are a delight to have around, and any family will be richer for their presence.
