Vegas is an absolute love ball of animal, who likes nothing more than to be hanging out with his people, preferably on the same level. When he came to us he was a very tubby 28 pounds, but thanks to the magic of a good diet and lots of playtime, he's down to a much more svelte 20 pounds. He LOVES to follow his people around, usually at the most adorable rolling gallop ever seen. One of his favorite past times is sitting in the back of the kitchen while someone is cooking, hoping against hope that whatever it is might jump off the stove into his mouth. He's got the dog door down to a science (when he first came to us, he couldn't even manage to get his belly through it, but he loves to go out and survey his domain now!) He very much enjoys visiting the dog park, where he has yet to keep up with the terriers running around, but he tries very hard nonetheless. Neck scratches are his kryptonite, it's an instant fall-over-and-leg-kick recipe. This senior boy is just as energetic as a dog half his age, but without the rambunctious issues that might be present in a younger dog! Mr. Vegas would love to come home and hang out with you for a nice relaxed life.
Vegas is a pretty hefty guy at the moment (28 pounds!), but we're working on seriously slimming down. He's an owner surrender through no fault of his own. You would never guess he was 12 by his attitude! He has a very chill demeanor and will happily lounge, but he'll be more than happy to play with a squeaky toy, or go for a nice walk, too. He likes sleeping at the foot of the bed, or in a dog bed or crate. He enjoys love and attention (neck scratches are his Kryptonite!), and particularly likes being at whatever level his people are. He'll be happy to tag along with you through the house, but he won't make a nuisance of himself. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, and is house and dog door trained. (He does need a pretty low step over for the dog door, thanks to his size, but we're working on it!)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
