Jolene's Story...
This sweet mare was part of a collaborative 50+ auction rescue. She was said to have been a small child's horse, only to be dumped at auction as if she didn't matter. She was emaciated upon intake and had an infected laceration on a front leg.. Her hooves and teeth had been neglected as well. However, after a few months of good nutrition and healthcare, Jolene is recovering nicely. Her laceration has healed, and radiographs of a scarred left knee were unremarkable. She has good range of motion and does not appear to have any residual issues.

Jolene has been saddled and ridden at the rescue. She appears to know the basics but would benefit from a tuneup. She has a motherly, protective personality with young horses and has appointed herself the guardian of Mazie and Bailey. She is current with vaccinations and deworming and hoof and dental care,

Adoption fee subject to change based on training. Please refer to website for current information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jolene, a El Dorado Hills Other/Unknown was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Other/Unknown for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Other/Unknown from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Other/Unknown breeders who help with Other/Unknown rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
